The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre works with neighbours and the broader community to build greater understanding of the recovery journey and address the stigma associated with mental health challenges and addiction. Recovery friendly communities have been scientifically proven to increase an individual's ability to achieve long term recovery goals.

In order to achieve industry leading health outcomes and to ensure no duplication of services, we have and will continue to develop and coordinate integrated services with health care providers, corporations, and other non-profit organizations.

This commitment helps ensure we will be able to offer recovery to those with little or no financial means,” said Scott, Anne, and Darcy Oake for the Bruce Oake Memorial Foundation. “Our first-born son, Bruce, lost his battle with addiction at age 25 and we began this project as a way to remember him, while at the same time hoping other families could be spared such a tragic outcome. Fresh Start Recovery

Fresh Start treatment follows the disease concept; seeing addiction as an illness that is progressive, and often fatal if untreated. The good news is that with treatment and a program of recovery, people that struggle with addiction can and do live healthy, happy and productive lives. Our goal is to send fathers back to their kids, sons back to their families, and to restore them back into community as productive and content men.

Fresh Start's intensive treatment program and solid community support is nationally recognized and offers an individual approach to recovering. There is no one size fits all treatment.

This award winning 16 week program offers one-on-one counselling, group facilitated healing, Ron Jarrett with Mission Fitness physical training, balanced nutritional meals and an opportunity to build a strong foundation of recovery.

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Manitoba and Winnipeg offers a variety of services. "Our services are informed by CMHA’s Framework for Support and the recovery model as the basis for working with people with mental health illnesses and challenges. CMHA recognizes the negative impact of stigma and offers community and workplace educational workshops, mental health promotion initiatives, and stigma awareness programs". Quest Health - NATAWIWEWAK Clinic

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre is working with Quest Health to co-develop culturally relevant treatment options and cultural healing practices and interventions that address the specific needs of Manitoba's First Nation, Inuit, and Metis communities.
