Positions Available

Volunteer Driver

The volunteer driver reports to the Recovery Services Coordinator or the staff to which they are assigned. The volunteer driver is required to assist in various duties of new and current participants for transportation.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drive current participants to appointments, meetings, etc.
  • Pick-up and bring new participants to Bruce Oake for their intake if needed.
  • Assist in other duties requiring transportation as per direction of their supervisor.
  • Ensure all COVID protocols for Bruce Oake are being followed.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

  • Must be over the age of 18 to apply.
  • Must have a vailid drivers licence 
  • All participant information is confidential and is required to respect confidentiality.
  • All volunteers are required to provide a criminal & child abuse record check. If selected, you will be contacted by the administrative coordinator to provide this information.

Volunteer Cook

The volunteer cook reports to the Recovery Services Coordinator or the staff from which they are assigned to. The volunteer cook is required to assist in various duties of operations of the kitchen.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and events for Bruce Oake.
  • Sanitation and ensure to follow standards and regulations.
  • Replenish all food, paper and cleaning supplies in kitchen and dining area.
  • Assist in other duties in the kitchen as per direction of their supervisor.
  • Ensure all COVID protocols for Bruce Oake are being followed.

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience.

The Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, in partnership with the Indigenous community, is committed to increasing the representation of Indigenous people within all levels of the workforce. All positions require a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
